4-months long bike ride through Europe

In 2005, I went on a 4-month long bike ride through Europe. As you can imagine, it was the trip of a lifetime and I have so many great memories from that time. I was at a cross road between life as a student and full-time working life. At some point, I will tell the story of this trip in one of my videos, but it will take some time to prepare it.

I took all these photos on a Canon EOS 300 X film camera, on Fuji Sensia E-6 slide film, which has since sadly been discontinued. I used that film for around 10 years. I liked that it rendered scenes realistically, and of course the affordable price was one of the main factors why I used it so much.

I "scanned" these photos with a Nikon d800 and a macro lens. The slides were lying on a light tablet. I had tethered my old d800 to the PC so that I could see the images directly on the screen. This was 2-3 years ago, and I am surprised how many more resources there are now on the internet in terms of advice and material to make this process smoother.

As I have so many film slides and negatives, I am going to refine my "scanning" process and slowly bring my old photos back to life.

Let me know if you are interested in following along both the scanning process and if you would like to hear about some of the many stories attached to these "oldish" photos (do the 90s count as old?! I can't believe how fast time flies...).
