Rediscovering Autumn's Beauty in the French Alps

This year's autumn arrived a bit later than usual in the French Alps, possibly a consequence of the unusually dry, hot summer followed by a mild transitional season. It made me want to create a video over the weekend, capturing the essence of this season that I so dearly love.

For years, I've felt too caught up in the busyness of life, neglecting my passion for photography and the great outdoors. Now, seizing the moments of respite from work, I venture into nature with my family, exploring the wonders of our planet together.

I invite you to join me on this journey, a story of autumn's splendor and family adventures.

In the serene ambiance of the Alps, we set off towards a waterfall, the crisp autumn air filled with excitement. The first snow had recently blanketed the region, creating a magical fusion of autumnal hues and pristine snow - a sight to behold. Despite the peak colors not being in full swing, the landscape was breathtaking, a vivid reminder of nature's ever-changing beauty.

The area we explored was a blend of scenic waterfalls and snow-capped peaks, presenting ample opportunities for photography. With my camera in hand, I found myself framing shots of the contrasting black rocks against the vibrant autumn colors and capturing the jagged mountain tops, now adorned with waterfalls.

One of my most memorable moments was experimenting with my GoPro, submerging it in a small lake blanketed with snow. It was an exciting first, capturing the underwater world in such a unique setting.

However, our adventure wasn't without its little mishaps. My son, stepping into mud, lost his shoe and got wet, prompting a quick departure to avoid the cold. It was a reminder of the unpredictable nature of outdoor adventures, especially with children.

The following day, we visited a different location, accompanied by the sounds of a rushing river swollen from the rain. The autumn leaves here were just starting to turn, signaling the delayed onset of the season. This location held a special place in my heart, having lived nearby in the past. Setting up my camera by the river, I aimed to capture the flowing water and the rocks on the other side, seeking to portray the dynamic energy of the scene.

Our journey also led us to the ruins of an old mill, now overtaken by nature. It was a fascinating sight, the remnants of history intertwined with the relentless growth of the forest. Despite the heavy rain, we were well-equipped, enjoying the exploration without any hindrance from the weather.
